East Tennessee's dedicated FOXP3 Protocol practitioner - supporting the immune regulatory pathways involved in autoimmune disease.

A different way to think about autoimmune wellness - focused on immune regulation, not simply immune suppression.

What Is The FOXP3 Protocol™?

Autoimmune disease involves a breakdown in the immune system's ability to maintain tolerance to the body's own tissues, and it isn't a life sentence of suppression. In 2025, the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine recognized landmark discoveries in peripheral immune tolerance - including the role of regulatory T cells and the FOXP3 gene in helping prevent the immune system from attacking the body's own tissues. The FOXP3 Protocol™ draws on this evolving understanding of immune regulation to form its nutritional and metabolic framework.

Dr. Terry Bragg - 45 Years in Clinical Practice | FOXP3 Institute Certified Practitioner

With 45 years of clinical practice, Dr. Terry Bragg specializes in root cause wellness interventions, dedicated to helping patients live their best lives. He has helped thousands of patients in East Tennessee lose weight over the past decade and has recently expanded his practice to include new wellness interventions for people living with rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, and other autoimmune conditions. His wellness approach focuses on nutritional and metabolic factors associated with immune regulation, complementing—not replacing—the medical care patients receive from their physicians.

Dr. Bragg is a FOXP3 Institute Certified Practitioner, one of a limited number of clinicians in the country trained to deliver the FOXP3 Protocol, a five-phase nutritional and lifestyle program built on 2025 Nobel Prize-winning research on the FOXP3 gene, regulatory T cells, and autoimmune tolerance.

The Science

Think of Your Immune System as Having an "Off Switch." What Happens When Regulation Breaks Down?
Every immune system needs two things: a way to attack threats, and a way to know when to stop. That second part—the “stand down” signal—is the job of a specific type of cell called a regulatory T cell, or Treg. A gene called FOXP3 plays a critical role in the development and function of regulatory T cells.
When regulatory T cell function is working appropriately, it helps the immune system maintain tolerance to the body's own tissues. When that regulatory process is disrupted, immune tolerance can break down and contribute to autoimmune activity affecting the joints, thyroid, skin, gut, or other tissues.
Many conventional autoimmune treatments focus on modifying or suppressing specific aspects of immune activity. The FOXP3 Protocol™ is built around a different question: what would it take to help support the body's own regulatory systems?

Is This Protocol Right for You?

This is a serious, structured commitment, not a quick fix. We’d rather you know exactly what it involves before you start than be surprised partway through.

This May Be a Fit If You’re…

Willing to follow all five phases in sequence, without shortcuts
Prepared for real structure, especially during the more demanding Phase 2
Willing to keep your prescribing physician involved
Looking for a long-term lifestyle shift, not a 30-day fix
Ready to track your experience and communicate openly along the way

This May Not Be Appropriate For…

Pregnant or nursing women
Children under 18 without specialized pediatric medical supervision
Individuals with an active eating disorder
Anyone unwilling to work alongside their healthcare provider
Those with certain severe metabolic conditions requiring specific medical dietary management

Designed to Work Alongside Your Medical Care

The FOXP3 Protocol™ is a nutritional and lifestyle wellness program, not a medical treatment, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It’s designed to work alongside your physician and your current medications—never as a substitute for either. Do not stop, reduce, or modify any prescription medication without the explicit direction of your prescribing physician.
